Matthew Keefer is a veteran of music review. He started his reviews in 2008 with the Newport Mercury, and has since continued his music blog, then Ravings of a Mad Music Man, in 2009. As a student of the trombone, he has played the slide instrument from middle school up through college (the prestigious University of Wisconsin-Madison), where he also picked up an extreme attachment to The Kinks. He also is an immense fan of the Boston folk artists Mark Erelli and Zachariah Hickman (pictured below, (C) 2017).
